Toys-R-Us Fun

Last weekend we checked out the new Toys-R-Us at Lotte World. I don't know if it's the first in Korea but I can say I've definitely never seen one out here before. I haven't been to a Canadian location in a long time so I can't say with certainty, but this one seemed a lot more hands on. There were tons of samples and stations to play at and try out a lot of the products. Also, I recommend going there if you are looking for English children's books at a reasonable price. I was kicking myself for not going there before I met with Jake because there were tons of Curious George books for 3,000 won each. *shakes her fist at the sky*

The Lego section was also really cool. Matt immediately gravitated towards the massive city and I cuddled up with Santa. We also marvelled at all the cheap stickers and the section that is full of party decorations and costume pieces. So it would be a good place to check out next year around Halloween if you are trying to put a costume together.

The games sections was also really interesting. The had a number of English games (including Pictionary and Scrabble) and also many familiar games in Korean. My favorite (the one I actually wanted to buy) was the Korean Monopoly game! The money was in Won and instead of Boardwalk and Park Place they have Gangnam and Myeongdong. Not far over (on the green squares) you can find the area we live in, Jamsil. I settled on taking pictures of the box instead of buying it but it would be really awesome to have, even if we'd be the only people who could read it.

Actually last year for Christmas they opened one near Guro (Guli Station) off of Line 1.

I haven't been but it sure sounds like tons of fun! I can't wait to check it out now that i have more of a reason to shop there. :)

You should have bought it! It would have been a great thing to remember Seoul!
